{"title":"Ştefănoiu Vasile","description":"Vasile Ştefănoiu is a Romanian sculptor whose work bridges classical mythology and contemporary concept. Drawing inspiration from ancient Greek legends, Ştefănoiu recontextualizes narrative themes through marble and mixed-media sculptures. By focusing on movement, metamorphosis, and the transition from form to content, the artist creates ideational works that evoke new emotional landscapes and meanings for the modern viewer.","products":[{"product_id":"forbidden-fruits-eve-s-apple-and-maurizio-cattelan-s-banana","title":"Forbidden Fruits: Eve’s Apple and Maurizio Cattelan’s Banana","description":"“Forbidden Fruits: Eve’s Apple and Maurizio Cattelan’s Banana” come together in a sculpture about desire, knowledge, consumption, and punishment.\nTwo fruits. Two stories. A single temptation: that of breaking the rule.\nThe apple carries the primal story of the forbidden fruit: Eve’s choice, the taste of knowledge, and the consequence of transgressing a boundary.\nThe banana, however, leads us to a different story—one belonging to contemporary art. In 2019, at Art Basel Miami Beach, *Comedian*—Maurizio Cattelan’s work consisting of a banana duct-taped to the wall—sold for $120,000. A few days later, artist David Datuna peeled the banana, ate it, and titled his intervention “Hungry Artist.”\nIn the sculpture before us, both fruits have already been bitten.\nBoth were desired.\nBoth were consumed.\nBoth transgressed a boundary.\nYet, while in the biblical story the fruit brings knowledge, and in Cattelan’s story the banana becomes a question regarding the value and nature of art, here the two histories overlap and transform into a simple question:\nWhat happens when we are no longer content to merely gaze at the forbidden fruit and choose to taste it instead?\nPerhaps, in the “Garden of Entropy,” it is not the fruit that decays.\nPerhaps what decays is the very boundary between desire and prohibition, between object and idea, between art and gesture.","brand":"ştefănoiu vasile","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67668737491053,"sku":null,"price":10000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2557\/5734\/files\/2026-10-07T1830-Forbidden_fruits___Eve_s_apple_and_Maurizio_Cattelan_s_banana.jpg?v=1791404195"},{"product_id":"the-newspaper-a-memory","title":"The Newspaper – a Memory","description":"The transition from an industrial to an informational society has fundamentally changed the way information reaches people.\nWith subtle humor and a special mastery in processing marble, the work “The Newspaper – a Memory” invites us on a nostalgic foray into the everyday universe of a bygone era. The sculpture faithfully reproduces the shape of a crumpled newspaper, which has become an object of memory, story and subtle irony.\nThe titles “Sport”, “Arts – Vasile Ştefănoiu Sculptor”, and the western-style column – “Dead or Alive - $ 1,000,000 Cash” transport us to an imaginary world, but with anchors in cultural and media reality. By juxtaposing these themes, the artist creates a composition that combines art, humor and self-irony.\nThe material – white marble – contrasts strongly with the ephemerality of the newsprint, amplifying the message: what is fleeting can become eternal in the hands of the artist.\nThis work is not just a sculpture, but a reflection on memory, identity and the permanence of personal memories in visual culture.\n","brand":"ştefănoiu vasile","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67668737523821,"sku":null,"price":10000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2557\/5734\/files\/2026-10-07T1825-The_newspaper__a_memory.jpg?v=1791404134"},{"product_id":"dream-the-path-to-infinity","title":"Dream – the path to infinity","description":"This sculpture is a work with a strong symbolic character to convey the idea that dreams are a gateway to key elements that can be interpreted.\nThe work depicts a dreamlike journey, in which the dreaming artist’s mind travels towards infinity through symbols, memories, inspiration and the creations in his work.\nThe figure dominating the lower right represents the beginning of the dream – a man at rest, who enters the dream world. The subtle smile expresses inner peace.\nThe body takes the form of the infinity symbol, which levitates suggesting the continuity of ideas, dreams and imagination that has no limits.\nIn dreams, the infinity sign can be understood as a representation of the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds, representing the harmony and meeting between body and spirit, material and divine.\nThe wavy lines represent waves of thoughts, dreams or time – a free flow between reality and the subconscious.\nThe image on the left - middle, “digital loneliness”, as an effect of contemporary digital acceleration is an allusion to the famous painting “The Parable of the Blind” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder from 1568 (inspired by an evangelical verse) and creates a bridge between the classic and the current, between the spiritual blindness of the 16th century and the “Digital Blindness” of the 21st century.\nThe first character, captive of the virtual environment, continues to look at his phone while falling into the abyss.\nThis is a powerful detail, perhaps the harshest criticism: even in the fall, modern man remains a prisoner of digital illusions. Not even suffering can bring him out of his trance.\nThis section brings a strongly reflective contemporary dimension. It is a mirror in which the modern viewer can recognize himself – or be frightened. It functions as a sculpted alarm signal, a call to inner awakening.\nIn a sculpture that speaks of dream, infinity, imagination, this area acts as a counterpoint: a warning about the danger of confusing dreaming with delusion.
