Two stories. A single temptation: that of breaking the rule.\nThe apple carries the primal story of the forbidden fruit: Eve’s choice, the taste of knowledge, and the consequence of transgressing a boundary.\nThe banana, however, leads us to a different story—one belonging to contemporary art. In 2019, at Art Basel Miami Beach, *Comedian*—Maurizio Cattelan’s work consisting of a banana duct-taped to the wall—sold for $120,000. A few days later, artist David Datuna peeled the banana, ate it, and titled his intervention “Hungry Artist.”\nIn the sculpture before us, both fruits have already been bitten.\nBoth were desired.\nBoth were consumed.\nBoth transgressed a boundary.\nYet, while in the biblical story the fruit brings knowledge, and in Cattelan’s story the banana becomes a question regarding the value and nature of art, here the two histories overlap and transform into a simple question:\nWhat happens when we are no longer content to merely gaze at the forbidden fruit and choose to taste it instead?\nPerhaps, in the “Garden of Entropy,” it is not the fruit that decays.\nPerhaps what decays is the very boundary between desire and prohibition, between object and idea, between art and gesture.","brand":"ştefănoiu vasile","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":67668737491053,"sku":null,"price":10000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/2557\/5734\/files\/2026-10-07T1830-Forbidden_fruits___Eve_s_apple_and_Maurizio_Cattelan_s_banana.jpg?v=1791404195","url":"https:\/\/shop.see.me\/products\/forbidden-fruits-eve-s-apple-and-maurizio-cattelan-s-banana","provider":"SeeMe","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
