ANDREI RIBAKOV

"First of all, people inspire me. That is why the main genre in which I work is portrait. But a portrait that is not static, a portrait that reflects the state and movement of a person. The problem of motion image also inspires me. This problem has been addressed by many artists throughout art history. We can recall Duchamp, Picasso, Bacon, who said that the movement was best portrayed by a primitive artist when he painted hunting scenes. Movement often changes the appearance of a person, so I paint both quite realistic portraits and mystical creatures. As a rule, the same people serve as models for both."
