BARBARA EICHLER

"I search for the magic in everyday life, embracing the mystery of things. By altering my observations, I can create unique images that tell their own story. I observe. I imagine. I paint. My art has been described as "a collection of life's visual narratives in a whimsical art form, creating a gallery of metaphorical expressions."

Barbara grew up in the Bronx, New York. Her passion for art started at a young age, studying in a specialized high school of Art and Design and later attending The School of Visual Arts on full scholarship, majoring in Fine Arts/Sculpture. Her expertise was stone carving, etchings in slate, and sculptures formed with polyester resins.

After traveling the states to experience different environments, she lived for a few years in the French Quarter of New Orleans, selling prints in a gallery on Jackson Square. Eventually, she made her way back to the northeast and settled in Scranton, Pa. There, she worked as a set designer and painter for her close friend and Pulitzer Prize winner Jason Miller with the Scranton Public Theatre. During these years, she also did some public murals and created ice sculptures for the restaurant at the Hilton Hotel. Presently her artistic passion has returned her to painting and drawing.
