Chen Mo

Chen Mo is aware of the creative potential hidden in our human psyches and unconscious mind; he has dedicated his art practice to manifest the 'incomprehensible perception of the whole’, where humans, matter, nature, time, and space condense. His art can be cataloged as Surrealist due to the way he juxtaposes images in irrational, yet meaningful ways and his references to social-political contexts.

Mo uses his personal experiences to explore feelings and thoughts around human existence and the relationship between the individual and the whole by portraying his own confrontation between his inner self and the outside world.

Still in his 20s, Mo is a rising star; he has won numerous prizes and participated in exhibitions from the 56th Venice Biennale to varied venues in France, Italy, Hungary, and his native China.

Chen Mo attended the Academie of Fine Art in Venice and received a Masters's degree in Arts Plastique at the Pantheon Sorbonne in Paris. Mo now lives and paints in Paris, France.
