Based in Zimbabwe, Claire Connolly is interested in exposing the reality of the people and community that surround her.  Subjects such as endurance, resilience, patience, and struggle are recurring themes, especially in the daily life of women. Conolly aims to offer a brief glimpse of life as a journey in motion:

“The journey must be undertaken, but the outcome is undetermined, the only thing to do is endure”

Via her ability to portray universal themes - despite varied circumstances, Connolly’s paintings offer the possibility of connection and an appeal for empathy.
