EMILY ROYNESDAL

I immersed myself in an intense multi-disciplinary fine arts program that focused on technique, but eventually went on to include conceptual theory, and this set the stage for what has driven most of my art practice since then.”

Emily Roynesdal is an American painter currently based in Colorado. Her passion for painting has become one of the most rewarding perks of following her love of art and curiosity about human behavior. Roynesdal initially pursued different disciplines including science tracks, but she eventually shifted her focus and immersed herself in an intense multi-disciplinary fine arts program that focused primarily on technique. Eventually, she went on to include conceptual theory, which now guides her current practice.

The majority of her work has concentrated on the study of personal and public spaces over the course of time, where she attempts to capture human behavior and emotion. Visits to New York that began as a child have been the crux of her fascination and portrayal of the urban landscape and its inhabitants in constant states of flux. According to Roynesdal, her latest pieces have “evolved to exaggerate movement through abstraction”.

Roynesdal recently completed a residency at “The Boulder Creative Collective” and is currently working at her art studio in Denver.
