George Anastasiadis
Born in Thessaloniki in 1968, George Anastasiadis is a self-taught painter who also works as a physical therapist in a public rehabilitation center for the disabled. Influenced by his high school art teacher, Nikos Paralis, Anastasiadis automatically paints images originating from the subconscious, hiding symbols and messages within his surrealist works. For him, painting is a form of confession and communication with the world—a deposit of the artist's soul. Believing that everything in the universe is a harmonious, indivisible, and immortal whole, he uses his art to explore philosophical, rational, and metaphysical questions, striving for continuous personal and artistic development.
