GIOVANNI DE BENEDETTO
Giovanni De Benedetto is a klecksography artist who created a specific technique that employs action painting, photography, and digital manipulation; for this he coined the term 'Augmented Klecksography Paintings' (AKPs) to describe his work.
His projects have multiple points of view in which observers are an active part of the creative process project themselves into the artwork.
Starting from 2012, Benedetto part in several solos and collective exhibitions with hisn main project PREMATURE, exhibiting in cities like Venice, Paris, Miami Beach,and Berlin.
In 2019, he was selected for the 4-month artist residency program at coGalleries in Berlin, which
culminated with his first solo exhibition in the German capital at the gallery located in Berlin-Mitte.
Furthermore, PREMATURE was chosen to be exhibited at PULSE Art Fair in Miami Beach during the Miami Art Week as part of The Next Generation of artists in the contemporary panorama.
In 2021, he started to animate his AKPs for its NFTs versions, and explore the potential of machine learning. Tis research led to the PREMATURE NFTs A/V installation presented at Funkhaus Berlin for Signals Festival, where the PREMATURE NFTs were intertwined with the morphing videos of an AI fed with the original PREMATURE artworks.
De Benedetto received several recognitions for his body of work PREMATURE, including two Nominees in the 15th and 16th Black & White Spider Awards, and 3 Honorable Mentions issued by Int'l Photography Awards, PX3, and Neutral Density Awards.
Giovanni is currently represented by the art dealer Matteo Sormani of Art-Preview based in Rimini, Italy.
De Benedetto is also featured in several art magazines like Art Market Magazine and Dodho Magazine and he was selected to be featured on the cover of the third issue of Al-Tiba9 Magazine with 10 pages-article and an interview of him.
