GIULIA BAITA Collection
In her Golden Lady series, Giulia Baita presents women that are in harmony with nature, self-aware, independent, and free. For Baita, these women are timeless, representing both the sacred feminine of Mediterranean culture as well as modern archetypes—all creators possessing vital energy. In this series, she deftly juxtaposes two worlds—the natural world and new technologies—and the inherent degree of separation from life that technology creates.
Baita’s intent is for the woody skin of the lady to represent dynamic growth and to remind viewers of a futuristic voyage, a kind of vortex inherent in the lady’s being. As with a tree trunk, the external essence of the lady appears still, belying strength and beauty and the timeless endurance of the natural world. In Baita’s words, the series is an homage to women but it also speaks to men who love and respect women.
Baita has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows in the US and abroad, particularly in her native Italy. Examples include “Light Impression” (Miami), “MIRA Mobile Prize” (in Porto), “mDAC 2017” (Palo Alto), the Biennale di Arte Contemporanea (2021 Florence Biennale) and at the Milan and Fuerteventura at the MADS Art Gallery (2021 & 2022). In 2022, her work was shown in the See|Me Gallery’s ROOTS exhibition in New York City and in Milan at the Galleria MAEC. Baita’s work is included in several private collections.
Baita studied Art History and works primarily with Digital Media. In addition to practicing her art, she is also a teacher and a See|Me member.
