In his "Wishful Structures" series, John Beck McConnico uses digital collage to construct impossible industrial architecture. He stitches massive steel silos, rust-stained pressure tanks, and a towering metallic hull into a single megastructure. By sharply cutting away the left edge to reveal internal stairs and pipes, he presents the facility as a drafted cross-section suspended in a pale void. McConnico relies on tiny, recognizable handrails and ladders to establish an immense physical scale. Stripped of any grounding landscape, these everyday utilitarian parts become a surreal, phantasmagoric object.
