In his HYBRIDITY collection, Kim Wan combines aggressive painted textures with digital glitches. Using a computer process called pixel sorting, he stretches a face downward into falling streaks of bruised blue, black, and flesh tones, hiding the subject's identity. Originally made as a streetwear print, the artwork connects Wan's graffiti roots with modern digital tools. This creates a clear visual clash between the heavy look of real physical paint and the artificial breakdown of a computer error. Ultimately, Wan questions the financial value of a simple digital pixel compared to the years of hands-on experience required to create the original piece. Think anti-surveillance culture.
