Set against a vibrant crimson ground, the figure's face shears downward in vertical striations of bruised blues, stark blacks, and fractured flesh tones. Originating from a nocturnal studio study layered with an ultramarine wash, the work translates the physical immediacy of Wan’s traditional mark-making in oil paint on canvas into a data-driven environment. This technique of digital decay acts as a postmodern simulacrum, where the structural breakdown of pixels physically enacts the erosion of a fixed identity.
