This installation recontextualizes the traditional floral still life by suspending a physical arrangement horizontally against a stark wall. An ornate ceramic implement, decorated with painted floral motifs, serves as the structural base for fresh white roses, dahlias, and green hydrangeas. By juxtaposing the two-dimensional painted blossoms with the three-dimensional reality of the organic matter, the composition examines the artifice of botanical representation. A white ribbon ties off the handle, while stark gallery lighting casts sharp, definitive shadows that anchor the modified domestic readymade firmly to the architectural surface.
