LILYAN ALOMA

Photographer and filmmaker Lilyan Aloma has had a passion for the Manhattan cityscape for more than two decades.

In her own words:

“I create images to explore my world, interior and exterior; to discover what lies beneath my “seeing. The intention is to uncover the potential of what is beyond the limits of conditioned sight and thought, calling imagination into play with virtual reality. The desire is to provoke and confound the viewer into a deeper awareness of his or her own powers of observation”

Aloma has showcased her photography in both solo and group exhibitions at prestigious venues including the OK Harris Gallery (solo show, New York), as well as the Leica Gallery, The Lightbox Gallery, Soho Photo, The National Arts Club, Brevard Museum, and the Berlin Photo Biennial. She has also earned recognition and honors at numerous competitions such as the Tokyo Fine Arts Award, Moscow Fine Art Award, PX3, American Photography, Julia Margaret Cameron Awards, and International Photographers of America.

Aloma's publication features include Black & White Magazine, Art Dealer Street, Dodho Magazine, Photography Annual 2020, and Silvershotz Magazine. Additionally, Aloma's earlier film work is part of collections at esteemed institutions, including the Beinecke Library at Yale University, The Brooklyn Museum, Stein Rogan Advertising, The Museum of the City of New York, and The New York Historical Society.
