ULYANA KOROL

Ulyana Korol was born in Lviv, Ukraine and currently resides in Spain. Her evocative palette-knife oil paintings have garnered recognition internationally for the depth of emotion and technical finesse, resulting in both solo and group exhibitions.

Her latest series delves into the symbolic nature of water as a mirror of resilience—fluid yet unbreakable, ever-changing yet timeless. Through the dynamic interplay of light, movement, and reflection, Korol captures water’s power to transform, distort, and heal. Each ripple and reflection become a metaphor for endurance and renewal, inspired by her own journey of perseverance.

Korol has had something of a fantastical artistic journey, with her first exhibition taking place at the mere age of nine after her parents noticed and fostered her artistic spark. Her natural gift for art was refined and made a constant in her life, but the responsibilities of motherhood-imposed limitations on her time for painting; nonetheless, the inner call to create continued to ring out. In the summer of 2014, her children almost grown, Korol found herself returning to her lifelong passion with intensity. What started with the goal of rekindling her connection to self resulted in a lifelong commitment and career as an artist.

Using layered brushstrokes and shifting hues, the meditative essence of water is translated into a visual language of survival. She invites viewers to dive into their own depths, discovering solace and strength in the fluid beauty that surrounds—and lives within—us all
