Cab Ride

Capturing the relentless kinetic energy of New York City, the photographer utilizes a precise panning technique to isolate a speeding yellow cab against the horizontally blurred architecture of Fifth Avenue. The crisp focal resolution of the vibrant vehicle stands in stark relief against the cool, desaturated streaks of the urban background, bringing the artist’s stated interest in limited color ranges to a dynamic street view. Inside the rushing car, the distinct silhouettes of the driver and passenger are briefly frozen in transit, their final destination remaining unknown to all but themselves.
