En dehors, revenir à l'intérieur

Duval overlays delicate, geometric boundaries onto a softly rendered, fluid landscape, making the invisible frameworks of physical and social space suddenly concrete. Drawing on her background in criminology, the artist uses these faint architectural lines as visual metaphors for the unseen structures and regulatory norms that dictate human movement. The tension between the organic, murky earth tones at the base of the canvas and the rigid, transparent corridors above questions the stability of these constructed boundaries. By mapping rigid vectors across a shifting terrain, Duval presents the landscape not as a natural vista, but as a highly regulated territory.
