Firemoons

Valerie Hird structures this watercolor polyptych as a fragmented yet continuous cosmic landscape. Across the four distinct panels, a sinuous ribbon of crimson pigment connects a dense arrangement of celestial orbs and stylized, swirling cloud formations. Drawing on the visual vocabulary of traditional East Asian landscape motifs and organic abstraction, Hird utilizes fluid, pooling washes of color to build deep atmospheric space.
