Frozen Tear on a Fallen Angel

In *Frozen Tear on a Fallen Angel*, Edward constructs a heavily textured portrait by physically excavating thick layers of primary pigment. Operating as a self-described "twenty-first-century primitive," the artist wields sticks and palette knives to gouge radiating striations into a dense, sun-yellow impasto that surrounds the figure like a brutalist halo. The deep cobalt visage at the composition's core is speckled with bright splatters, mapping a celestial expanse directly onto the structural planes of the face. A distinct mark beneath the stylized eyes grounds the work's title, manifesting the frozen tear against the dark, night-sky pigment. This severe graffito technique channels the raw materiality of Art Brut while imposing the geometric logic of his architectural training onto chaotic colour fields. By merging aggressive physical action with Symbolist intent, he forms a tactile, tribal artifact.
