The figure’s mask, crowned with a striking star motif and framed by energetic crimson strokes, channels ancestral authority and a commanding ritual presence. Behind the subject, a maroon background patterned with interlocking orange motifs echoes the carved woodwork of Grassfield palace architecture, situating the figure within a specific ceremonial memory. Drawing from his own Cameroonian heritage, Ghondi merges graphic linework with vivid symbolism to assert cultural continuity as a living, resilient practice.
