Illuminated Garden

In *Illuminated Garden*, the artist merges the structural discipline of an architectural background with the raw physical energy of Abstract Expressionism. Approaching the surface as an excavated site, the artist vigorously scores dense layers of oceanic blue, deep teal, and earthy green using sticks and knives. This aggressive sgraffito technique gouges through wet pigment to reveal lighter underlayers, establishing vertical and diagonal striations that frame the chaotic composition. Slashing interventions of brilliant cadmium red and luminescent yellow fracture these dark fields, injecting the vibrant color and intense light of the titular garden. Rooted in a formal study of Symbolism and a self-described "primitive" methodology, the resulting surface operates less as a traditional botanical scene and more as a highly tactile artifact. The deeply incised lines and rugged textures record the sheer physical force of their own making.
