It Started with a Feeling explores the quiet yet transformative moments that alter the course of our lives. Before every meaningful change, there is often an instinct, a feeling that arrives before logic can explain it. This work captures that fleeting moment of clarity, when something within us shifts and a new path begins to emerge. Rather than depicting a physical landscape, the painting presents an emotional one. Layers of texture and atmospheric color evoke the uncertainty, hope, and vulnerability that accompany transformation. The composition invites viewers to pause within that moment of becoming, where possibility exists before certainty. As an immigrant from Venezuela and someone whose family has navigated migration across generations, I have come to understand that life’s defining moments often begin not with a destination, but with an internal feeling. This painting reflects the belief that our deepest sense of direction and perhaps even our sense of place—often begins long before we know where it will lead.
