BC da Ghondi uses forced perspective to thrust an improvised wheel-drum into the immediate foreground, centering the composition on a traditional Cameroonian village school. Suspended by wire over sunbaked ochre earth, the heavy metal bell hangs silent. Once rung to signal gatherings, the dormant object symbolizes the halted rhythm of education caused by regional crisis.
