In this vivid portrait, Nazareth Bordonada continues their deeply personal journey to forge a unique modern voice rooted in classical technique. Working in vibrant oils, Bordonada maps the subject's face with a highly textured, topographical approach, using contrasting warm oranges and cool cerulean blues to build form. This expressive rendering is framed by thick, graphic contour lines that trace back to the artist's foundational work in ink. The figure’s quiet concentration, handling the intricate stringed object, is amplified by the dynamic rhythm of the striped background and bold green foliage, balancing old master observation with striking contemporary energy.
