Drawing from her annual visits to Pakistan and upbringing in Saudi Arabia, Naqvi constructs a dense, synthetic landscape that merges the bustling marketplaces of both cultures. The heavily textured canvas functions as an archeological site of personal history, utilizing thick impasto and integrated collages to physically build a sense of heritage. A central female figure sits amid specific cultural signifiers—a vivid blue rickshaw, traditional Saudi domes, and ornamented vessels. By flattening these distinct geographic spaces into a single, tactile composition layered with hand markings, Naqvi visually synthesizes her love for both the traditional and the contemporary.
