Teyolia — That Which Gives Life to the People

Teyolia takes its title from the Nahuatl concept describing the life force residing in the heart. In pre-Hispanic philosophy, the heart was understood as the place where memory, identity, and consciousness converge. Through symbolic figuration and the incorporation of silk ribbon, the work creates a dialogue between body and spirit, suggesting that belonging is carried internally rather than defined by geography. The painting invites viewers to consider memory as a living presence that continues to shape identity across generations.
