The Bleeding Heart Constellation

Sonia Redfern layers a precise geometric diagram over the organic form of a bleeding heart plant, merging her background in astronomy with botanical observation. Set against a dark, textured background, the vivid green leaves and bright pink flowers are connected by a linear network of stars that resembles a celestial constellation map. This visual pairing of earthly flora and mathematical celestial mechanics reflects Redfern's ongoing interest in how our small, familiar world connects to the vastness of space. By mapping cosmic structures directly onto a common garden plant, she grounds the mysteries of the universe in everyday nature.
