The Raspberry Constellation

Sonia Redfern maps a stellar constellation directly onto the vibrant turquoise leaves of a berry bramble, merging her background in astronomy with botanical observation. Set against a dark, textured ground marked by vertical grassy striations, the dense cluster of green foliage and red berries anchors the celestial diagram to the earthly terrain. By charting the night sky across the surface of ordinary flora, Redfern physically unites the vast reaches of space with the immediate, tactile reality of the natural environment. This visual collision reflects her core inquiry into our shared existence on a small planet.
