The Rose Constellation

Drawing on her background in astronomy, Sonia Redfern maps a geometric constellation directly across the turquoise leaves of two blooming red roses. Set against a dense, highly textured black ground, the vivid foliage and opaque crimson petals anchor this celestial diagram firmly to the earth. By charting the night sky over the surface of familiar flora, Redfern visually unites the vastness of space with the tactile reality of our natural environment. This striking intersection stems from her core curiosity about what it means for us to share a small planet within a massive universe.
