The Spell

Drawing on Symbolist traditions, Williamson orchestrates a vibrant, theatrical tableau to visualise the union of the conscious and subconscious mind. Saturated hues of orange and gold illuminate figures engaged in ritualistic music and movement, surrounded by animal companions that deepen the composition's mythological resonance. Titled a magical formula, the painting functions as a visual incantation for recognising humanity's inherent androgynous nature. By illustrating the reconciliation of gender diversity within the biological machine, the work seeks to activate true potential through the daemon, ultimately guiding the observer toward a profound knowledge of self-love.
