In *Tribal Magic*, the artist synthesizes his background in architectural design with the ferocious materiality of Abstract Expressionism. Functioning as a self-described "twenty-first-century primitive," he builds dense stratigraphies of teal, ochre, and deep azure before aggressively excavating the wet surface with sticks and knives. This severe sgraffito technique leaves a network of raw, erratic grid lines in sharp cadmium red and stark black, imposing a fragile geometry over the chaotic underpainting. The resulting cross-hatched texture reads like ruined scaffolding or distressed urban topography, grounding the work in a highly tactile physical reality.
