Wayfinder explores gesture as an expression of orientation and intention. The outstretched arm extends beyond the picture plane, suggesting movement toward an unseen destination. Neither pointing nor reaching fully, the gesture exists in a space between certainty and discovery, inviting viewers to consider the instinctive ways we navigate the world and seek direction. Constructed from layered velour, leather, and suede, the work transforms materials traditionally associated with footwear into a tactile language of movement and form. Through stitching and assembly, each fragment contributes to a composition that emphasizes rhythm, contour, and the physical presence of the body. Rather than depicting a specific narrative, Wayfinder considers the universal desire to search, explore, and orient oneself.
