ZEN--Organic Photography for the digital age No.2

8x10 B&W film, No photoshop ! My aesthetic actually stems from my love and study of play. Contradiction and conflict are the fundamental elements of drama; no contradiction, no characters; without conflict, there is no drama. Look at my work: black and white, gravity and ascension, bondage and liberation, the hardness of rocks and the romantic levitation—all these are natural contradictions and conflicts. I put them together to complete a poem of peace and a place full filled with harmony. To create the first series of 20 photographs ,I designed and built some specialized equipment, and using this equipment, along with special techniques, I created the illusion of floating rocks, fish, and other objects in the photos without the use of fishing line, clamps, green screen, or any digital softwares, like photoshop or Lightroom.
